How to Make More Money on OnlyFans: Camgirl Advice & Success Tips!

onlyfans review

So you’ve created an OnlyFans account, now what? How do you succeed on OnlyFans and use this platform to its full potential? (And make a ton of money, of course!)

1. Set the *right* subscription price

Although it might be tempting to set your monthly price as high as possible (OnlyFans’ current limit is $49.99/month), my advice is to balance that with what your fans would reasonably afford to pay. You’ll get more followers at a lower price (say, $9.99 or 14.99) and they’ll be more willing to pay for the Pay-Per-View messages and will end up spending ore on you overall. At the same time, don’t shortchange yourself and don’t set your subscription price too low where you might get people expecting too much for too little. It’s all about balance and also knowing your audience! If you’re into Findom, you may very well be able to set a high monthly price.

2. Promote your OnlyFans link online + Advertise your content!

Get creative with this! Definitely promote on Twitter and Instagram, if you’ve got it, as well as promoting your link during your cam shows, if you stream online. You can also share your link on TikTok, Reddit, or your official website/blog. The more places you can showcase your OF link – the better! Of course, don’t go completely overboard and spam viewers with it. Having your link in your twitter bio or even your Twitter name is a great promotion idea. Additionally, make sure your followers know what kind of content they’re signing up for by posting short clips, pics, and polls on your social media.

3. Talk to your fans

make money onlyfans review

The road to a successful camming career and beyond is consistency and communication, so don’t neglect this crucial part! Make a posting schedule and try to stick to it, as well as reply to comments and DMs, which will lead to greater loyalty and subscription renewals. There’s nothing worse than losing subscribers because you simply didn’t post enough content. It might be a good idea to shoot some videos and photo sets in advance, so that you can slowly release them over the course of the month.

4. Try Tiered PPVs (Pay-Per-View Messages)

PPVs are a great way to create stronger connections and make members feel like they’re getting something really exclusive and special to them. You can set different prices (say, $1-3, or $10+) for their messages to unlock. Messages can be anything – photos, videos, or text posts! You can really use your imagination here and create some special photosets, videos or a sexy chat that would make members want to see it. This is a great way of making extra money on OnlyFans!

5. Get to know your audience

You can use your intuition or see what other camgirls are posting, but a really useful way to really find out what YOUR fans want is by making polls! Knowing your audience is the KEY to a successful OnlyFans account! You can figure out what kind of content members want to see next and track which of your posts were successful with the help of the analytics features on OnlyFans. For your PPVs, you can track how many messages have been opened, read, and which prices were the most profitable, so you can learn and make more informed decisions for your future posts.

6. Do promotional campaigns throughout the year

Sales are a great way to draw new people in or engage your current followers by making them feel they’re getting a bargain. Everyone loves a bargain, and promotions create excitement for members. There is always an excuse to do a promotional campaign, be it Christmas, Halloween, Valentine’s day, your birthday – whatever you can think of!

7. Consider making your account free – At least for a while!

An alternate strategy to consider is making your OnlyFans account free! This can allow for a higher following as subscribers don’t have to commit to paying a monthly subscription fee. Free accounts can use the pay-per-view post feature, which allows you to monetise individual posts, in addition to pay-per-view messages and tips. Although you don’t have the predictability of subscription income, this strategy can be lucrative and lead to wider brand recognition.

How do you know when it’s time to quit camming?

camgirl

We’ve all had our bad days on cam (and weeks, and even months), but how do you know when to throw in the towel? When things are not going well on cam money-wise, do you try harder or do you quit?

I think that you have two options when things are not going well and you become disheartened, frustrated, and upset.

Option 1: Change Something!

You either try CHANGE UP your approach to camming, sign up to another cam site, or subscription site, or do another major change such as those.

The fact is, if you’ve been doing the same thing and it hasn’t been working, it’s unlikely it will. (Unless you get lucky, and a high tipper notices you and showers you in tokens). You have to look at what you’ve been doing on cam and see if there are areas that are majorly lacking. A simple fix may be in order, such as updating your equipment (webcam, laptop, lights – more important to looking good on cam than you’d think!), as well as your cam room. If you’ve got all the right tools, but still can’t seem to make money on cam, it might be that the site you’re on is not suited best for your needs. If you’re shy and prefer to be a non-mode cammodel (a “tease” model), then a site like Chaturbate might not work for you, because there is an emphasis on pretty sexual private and public shows.

You might benefit from a site like Myfreecams OR a subscription site like OnlyFans where you’re not required to be overly sexual. In fact, many camgirls have moved to OnlyFans, AVN Stars, etc, because of the flexibility these sites offer, and the fact that you don’t need to come up with complicated show ideas and spend hours of your time on cam. It’s worth trying them out if you feel burnt out on cam and are not getting enough interaction from tippers. A lot of girls make on OF much more money than the ever did as camgirls!

However, if you actually enjoy the live interaction of camming, it might be that you need to look into other cam sites. See my list of best ones here. Try to assess what may be going on with your approach to camming. Maybe you’re not being quite yourself and the viewers are picking up on that, or maybe you need to create a character or persona that you will be on cam, and that is what will make it fun for you.

Viewers can see when you’re genuinely enjoying yourself and when you’re not, and that you’re just going through the motions. If you’re unhappy, feeling negative, or frustrated, you might lash out at people and drive them away even more. Members tend to come to cam sites for entertainment and lightheartedness, a place to get away from their problems and the daily grind. If it seems like you cannot do it, and being on cam is a drag leaving you more and more dissatisfied and frustrated, maybe it’s time to look into Option 2.

Option 2: Quit Camming

So, you tried your hand at camming and you’ve tried OnlyFans or a similar fanclub platform, and things have not gone well. You are not alone. Most camgirls will quit within the first month of camming, so if you’ve stuck it out for more than a month – good job! You gave it a fair try, and it may be that adult industry is not for you, and that you prefer to interact person-to-person, or want to use one of your other skills and talents. Remember, even if you “make it” as a camgirl, the career in the adult industry is quite short-lived, so you’ll either need to save most of your earnings, or look for a way to branch out and leave for another opportunity. (See my post on it here).

There is no shame in quitting, and it’s better to quit than to continue sticking it out and hurting yourself in the process. You might start feeling isolated and depressed and use drugs/alcohol to deal with the painful experiences on cam. Don’t exploit yourself just so you can get some “easy money”, because this money is definitely not easy and can really crush your self-esteem and self-confidence. It’s better to find a lower-paying, but a stable “vanilla” job that you can count on, versus a high risk-high reward one that might never pan out.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you’re not hurting yourself in the process and that you’re being as true to yourself as possible. Good luck!

avn stars info

PROS

  • Great customer service
  • Super easy to get started/user-friendly interface
  • The minimum you need to earn to cash out is $25, which is much lower than most sites require.
  • Integration with the AVN network, so you can get nominations and votes for the AVN Awards within the platform!

CONS

  • Not as popular as OnlyFans (yet), so it’s a bit harder to make money, due to fewer members having an account.

I do believe that AVN Stars will become as big as OnlyFans as more and more camgirls find out about it.

Making Money (and Keeping Sane) While Self-Isolating

camming work from home

Making Money in the Time of Coronavirus

These are pretty uncertain times and it can be a struggle for camgirls, and the world at large, to keep the motivation going. It’s easy to slip into depression and bouts of anxiety and panic with everything that’s going on with this coronavirus pandemic, but keeping a daily schedule and keeping yourself busy with work is a great solution to the problem we’re all facing.

Luckily, the adult industry does not seem to be affected as much as other industries, and some might say it is even *thriving* despite the global pandemic. There are more people at home and self-isolating, and so they are looking for social contact and entertainment/enjoyment from cam sites and subscription platforms, like OnlyFans. Quarantine or not, there will always be a demand for porn and other adult services, so working as a webcam model in these times is actually quite advantageous.

Where to Start

So, you need to make money at home and you don’t know where to start? Here is a list of the best resources for making money while in quarantine:

  1. Best Camsites to Start on (click to read more!): My recommendation would be to start with the industry’s “Gold standard” – Chaturbate – and then try out other sites to see how they compare. Check out my Beginners Guide for Webcam Models.
  2. Adult-Friendly Snapchat Alternatives (click to read more!): OnlyFans is killing the game right now! Girls are making thousands of dollars a month from posting photos, vids, and DMing their followers. Check out my posts on How to Get Started on OnlyFans and How to Keep Increasing your Income!
  3. Passive Income Sources for Camgirls (click to read more!) – Sometimes you just want to take a break and not stream at all. When you’ve got passive income sources set up, you can make money while you sleep. I recommend checking out camming affiliate programs, as the earnings definitely add up over time! One of the best programs in the industry is the Chaturbate Affiliate Program (you don’t eve need to be a model to sign up and make $$$)

Staying Sane

Making money is great, but how on earth do you stay sane during times like these?

While playing videogames all day is a-ok, even that will become boring after a while, and so a great way to keep yourself mentally on track is…

  • Structure – Try to wake up at the same time each day and not sleep in too much, keep your meal times pretty structured as well, as well as your bedtime.
  • Some type of exercise – Walking around the block or to a neighborhood park, a beach or a non-crowded hiking trail (whatever is available!)
  • Get some sun every day! ☀️ Great mood booster!
  • Get creative. Do something with your hands (crochet, macrame, bead work, drawing, painting, calligraphy, pottery, gardening) The options are endless.
  • Set small goals to achieve each day – This will give your brain and body added dopamine boosts throughout the day!
  • Keep in touch with people who you care about and who care about you. It can be anyone, and doesn’t have to be family, if they’re not supportive or are negative.
  • “This too shall pass”. Give yourself positive affirmations that you will get through this.
