Myfreecamsremains a highly popular cam site, and for good reason: the girls are hot and the tips are plenty.
The previous biggest MFC tip holder was RocknRose back in 2018, and no one had come close to that tip since then. That is, until April 30, 2022 when joebigmouth tipped Boner_Fairy a MIND-BLOWING 1,751,111 token tip that secured her #1 spot on the Miss MFC charts. If you’re curious, and who wouldn’t be, this tip comes out to an ASTOUNDING $87,555.55 USD. This is just one of the many huge tips she received that night and throughout the month. You can only imagine how much money she made in that month, considering her top tip is more than most people earn in a year! Good on her and her generous tippers! Boner_Fairy is certainly one to watch for over the next few months! 🔥
Let’s say that you need to make a few hundred dollars NOW (or soon) – how do you go about it and what is the quickest way to do it? We are assuming that you have no prior camming experience.
Here is my personal plan of how to do it:
Join 2 (or more) cam sites at the same time. I would recommend not overextending yourself by joining too many at once, but 2 sites would be perfect, so that you can flip back between the two. It will take a few days to get approved, as you need to provide ID for verification, but once you do, you’re all set.
MFC is more geared toward “hangout” atmosphere and doesn’t focus AS much on cam shows. This is a great site to start up on, to get yourself more comfortable with nudity and what it feels like to stream. You will be given a “New Model” label, which will get you more exposure on the site and an opportunity for more tips. Members love new models, but be aware that some do try to take advantage of the inexperience of new girls. Read by beginners post on how to get started on MFC – I would recommend streaming for a few hours at a time to see how well it goes.
Having some experience on MFC will make you more comfortable to stream on Chaturbate, which operates a similar way with private and public shows, but is more sexual than MFC. Generally, the more nudity/sexuality you have on cam, the more viewers you get, and the higher you show up on the list of models. If you’re not comfortable yet with a full-blown cam show, you can do a striptease for tokens and do sexy dances or spanks. Check out my post on how to get started on CB!
If you stream twice in the same day, you should easily make your first $100. Being a new model on MFC will give you an automatic boost, and CB will expose you to more tippers, as it has the largest traffic out of all cam sites.
What else should you do to take that money FAST?
A lot of memberslove videos, and will often ask for them. If you don’t have any prerecorded videos (which you can do while you wait for your verification/approval), you can still sell them on cam and record them within the week. In my experience, members don’t expect professional quality from videos, in fact, the amateur angle is what is more attractive. You can check out my post about making vids here.
Once you have a video or two, or some pics, it’s a really good idea to joinManyVidsto sell them! It’s the #1 video selling platform. This way you get even more exposure from more members.
At this time, join Twitter, where you can promote your videos and the times you’re on cam.
Alternate Way:
What if you don’t want to be going on cam and interacting with members in real time and doing privates, but still want to make money? A GREAT new option is OnlyFans– it’s like an adult-based version of Snapchat. Members sign up to see your photos and short videos and you get money off of their memberships and any extra tips they send! This is becoming a very popular option for camgirls to make extra money on top of camming, or even replace camming completely! You can definitely make a few thousand $ a month on OnlyFans once you accumulate a large enough membership base.
So, these are my tips on making money the fastest way you can as a camgirl. Any questions or personal tips? For a more in-depth camming tutorial, please see my Beginners Guide post. 🙂
So, you want to be a webcam modelor are still on the fence about it – Let’s look at some of the things that make being a camgirl GREAT and some that may make you reconsider!
Money – This one is easy, and it immediately comes to mind when you think of camming. The money can definitely be GREAT. So great in fact, that you can be out-earning the doctors and lawyers in your city (Check out my post about the highest tips on Myfreecams here). While it’s hard to say how much exactly you will earn, this post has some good approximations.
Freedom (of time, setting your own hours, not having a boss) – This is one of the biggest advantages of camming. You can quit your day job, say goodbye to your boss and not work a minute more for someone else. It is certainly alluring, especially if you’re making more moneyin a few days than you used to make all month at your old job, and with it comes a sense of empowerment. It’s a beautiful feeling knowing that you’re earned this type of money yourself and that you have the flexibility to work when you wish.
Sexual Expression – For some, this is one of the most beneficial aspects of camming: Being able to explore and express your sexuality in a way that’s very safe AND that earns you money is very alluring and liberating. You can do what you please and what you’ve always wanted to try out and there is no stigma – quite the opposite, usually!
💸Gifts and Attention – Being a camgirl with multiple fans definitely has its perks. At a “vanilla job” (aka the regular, 9-5 job), there is no way you’d be getting lavish gifts, extra money, gift cards sent to you, but all of that is standard in camming. It’s really thrilling to get your first “just because” tip or a gift card to get those clothes or shoes you wanted. Sometimes it feels like all you have to do is ask, and one of your members will be right there to buy it for you.
Work options that are not available to you otherwise, be it due to a disability or life circumstances. The great thing about being a camgirl is that you can work as much or as little as you want/can, and no one will tell you how to do your job. If you can’t handle a full-time job – camming is perfect. If you have mental health issues (common in the industry), physical issues or a disability, camming creates a way for you to work fewer hours and still make great wage, and most importantly, to do it on your own terms.
Ability to create the life that you want. To sum up, being such a non-traditional job, camming can create so many opportunities for having the life you truly want. You can make a ton of money in your 20s, invest wisely, and then follow your dreams, be it starting your business, owning a farm, or just being a stay-at-home mom. It’s possible with camming due to its massive earning potential.
Downsides of Camming
Very short career timeline/Limiting your future options – Sure, you can be earning the big bucks if you’re lucky, but what happens once you start aging, or your life priorities change? Unfortunately, I believe that a lot of cam models will be stuck in this situation, with a big blank in their resume and no way of getting a well-paying job beyond adult work. It definitely can limit your options in the future, if you decide to leave the industry.
No benefits or paid time off – Say what you will about having a corporate job, but at least it does (usually) provide you with some medical/dental benefits, and a paid time off for any emergencies or just mental health days, in addition to vacation time. As a camgirl, you don’t have that luxury, so you need to plan your vacation around camming, and get used to not getting paid whenever you get sick and can’t be online. You are also on your own when it comes to taking care of your medical expenses.
Stigma – The adult work’s stigma, though lessening, is not going away. Most camgirls have to lie to their family and friends about where they work, and that can be a big emotional burden to carry.
Isolation – Isolation and lack of healthy social interaction is a very real problem for camgirl, because you get so wrapped up in the “Cam World” that you can kind of lose yourself. I made a post about the loneliness and isolation that comes with camming here.
Scams and Harassment – Unfortunately, scams, harassment, and even stalking in some cases, are common in the camming industry. It’s very likely that you’ll encounter some of them as a cam model. It does come with the territory, as there are members who think it’s okay to harass, intimidate, or even try to blackmail camgirls. It’s pretty disgusting behavior, and there is little you can do while it’s happening, but you CAN protect yourself ahead of time – read my post about it here.
So, despite all the negative elements, many camgirls LOVE their job and feel that it’s the best thing that has ever happened to them. I tend to agree – if you can be smart about minimizing your risks, and being realistic about your earning potential – you can absolutely have a great career in camming and enjoy its benefits for years to come.
There has been one camgirl who’s been dominating the Miss MFC charts for a while and her name is RocknRose. You could say she’s been rocking the ranks (and members’ wallets) with an astounding back-to-back wins in February, March, and April of 2018! (As well as three #1s in 2017), and she is poised to win AGAIN this month! She has some loyal tippers helping her make it, and there is a very good chance she will.
So, what is the tip that CRUSHED all others before hers? The previous high tip was a massive 1.2 MILLION tokens ($60,000 USD) tipped to LocaLoca, who is also no stranger to high tips.
RocknRosereceived a chart-topping, mind-bending tip from RocknKing going toward charity in the amount of 1,347,673 tokens! This comes out to $67,383.65 USD. Many would dream of earning this much in a year and RocknRose managed to earn it in one night. What is her secret? One sure way to find out is to visit her room! 😏
Cammingis not an easy job – we all know this. Having to deal with beggars, scammers, and all-around awful people while still being entertaining and enticing to the people who do support you on cam is no easy task. Camming falls under the umbrella of helping jobs, where you expand a lot of your emotional energy toward your “clients” and often do not get much back. Therefore, burnout is so common in the camming field. You’ll see girls taking multiple days off from cam, and months even, because they’ve overextended themselves for the sake of their viewers and have neglected to take good care of themselves physically, emotionally, and mentally.
So, what does it take to successfully manage burnout while still maintaining a consistent cam presence and earning enough money?
BOUNDARIES
You need to have realistic expectations of yourself and set firm boundaries about what you will and won’t do, how often you’ll be on cam, and how available you’ll be OFF cam. I find that the off-cam presence is often the hardest one to be firm on, because you might feel that if you don’t give your members enough attention between camming sessions, they will forget about you and move on. While it may be true for some members, most will be understanding of you needing your private time outside of cam to recharge and do your own things instead of constantly doing Twitter status updates and tweeting sexy pics. The members who WON’T be ok are ones who will always expect too much from you and push your boundaries. You need to have a solid understanding of how much connection outside of cam is ok for YOU and to stick with it. Boundaries are so crucial to have, and I guarantee that you will have a greater peace of mind when your personal boundaries are not crossed by members.
How do you let them know what they are? You can either be direct and say that you will not be on Twitter much in the off-cam hours, or that you will take weekends off from social media completely, or that you won’t answer DMs. An indirect way of doing the same is simply doing it and waiting for members to catch on and not making exceptions. Firm personal boundaries equal a healthy state of mind. 💖
SELF-CARE
You may think of self-care as taking bubble baths, getting your nails done, or getting a massage, and while those are all true, self-care may come in very different forms.
Self-care might be you taking a nice walk around town or a park. It might be disconnecting from social media and phone for a day and experiencing a day without interruptions. It’s giving your body some rest, not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. It might be calling or texting a friend you haven’t talked to in a while because of your camming schedule, or even just reading a book. It might look different for everyone, but at the core of it is putting your needs first and caring for your own well-being.
You can think of taking care of yourself as investing in your camming career. The better your self-care and the firmer your boundaries, the more you can achieve without getting exhausted, spreading yourself too thin and eventually burning out. Burnout is not pretty, and unfortunately, it’s way too common in camming. It’s hard to get yourself back on cam after a burnout, because you may feel resentful, unmotivated and unwilling to put yourself back in the place that caused it. The best way out of this situation is to try to not get into it in the first place.
Start by figuring out how to take care of your basic physical needs, like prioritizing your sleep, having a stricter cam schedule (no camathons or camming too late at night), eating well and avoiding junk food and emotional eating. I know it may seem really appealing to order in after a long camming session, but doing that too often will drain your energy and lead to eventual weight gain. Make sure you go to the doctor for regular checkups and take whatever vitamins/supplements that make you feel better. (Try collagen for healthier skin, hair, and nails, and melatonin for better sleep). Exercise is a key component of self-care, whether it’s going to the gym, taking classes or just going on daily walks.
Emotional self-care involves doing things that make you feel good and keeping your mood stable. The instability of camming earnings and the up and down nature of the cam industry does not bode well for emotional stability. Adding the “camming high” after a good night on cam to the list is a recipe for an emotional disaster. Some ways to counteract this is to take time to yourself to relax and reflect on the day and perhaps meditate, journal, or spend time on a relaxing hobby. You can vent to your fellow camgirls or a supportive friend if you’ve had a bad day on cam. If you’re noticing that you’re feeling bad consistently, it may be a good idea to see a counselor, which can improve your mood immensely. Watch out for self-medication with drugs or alcohol. While they may bring relief in the short-term, they won’t be good for you at all in the long term.
Mental self-care can cover things like doing activities outside of camming that bring you happiness and feeling mentally stimulated. Let’s face it, camming is not exactly the most mentally-stimulating job out there, so you need to take care of that aspect outside of cam. Hanging out with friends, reading interesting books, maybe taking a class or even going back to school all encompass your mental well-being. It’s about knowing that there’s something outside of the camming bubble that can be mentally engaging and be something to strive for.
The combination of strong personal boundaries and consistent self-care will do wonders for you and prevent a potential burnout. You’ll be able to enjoy camming more and not lose yourself in it. If you have any more personal tips, share them below!
